Dakota King
For over a year Dakota King of Glasgow has been putting in some top performances for Partick Thistle Football under 14’s which is beginning to give him a reputation as one of Scotland’s future stars.
Dakota started playing football when he was 8 years old and for two years just messed about in the park, until his 10th birthday when he joined West Park boys club.
He started his first season of competitive football at right back and ever since switched to playing a more attacking role in his teams.
After playing for West Park and impressing for two years clubs started noticing him and were keeping an eye on the young at the time centre midfielder with a good eye for a goal.
When Dakota was just 12 years old he was offered a trial for Partick Thistle’s under 13’s side and the coaches decided to sign him up for one year. Dakota originally found himself at right wing for Thistle and half way through the season switched to Striker. In Dakota’s first season of pro-youth football he scored 28 goals and provided many assists as well.
So far this season Dakota has thrived under the brilliant coaching and services Thistle have been able to offer him throughout his time at the club.
Dakota explained “Before I joined Thistle, training was a bit of a bore for me. I just always wanted to play games all the time. Thistle have made training sessions fun but at the end of every session I really notice my all round game improving”.
Dakota season is over until early August but he will be moving up to the Under 15’s next season.
Dakota said “Yeah, the season is now over and I’m looking forward to a break now, hopefully we can get a few people along next season to support me and my boys.”
