Today, Celtic's quest to sign on-loan striker John Guidetti permanently, took a step backwards after Ronny Deila revealed the 22 year old will wait until March at the earliest to decide where his future lies.
The Swede, whose loan deal at Celtic Park ends in May has attracted interest from various clubs throughout Europe with Southampton and French giants Marseille just a few of the high-profile clubs reportedly interested in capturing Guidetti's signature. However, Celtic have already declared their intent in allowing the natural finisher the opportunity to be another Swedish hit at the Glasgow club.
Deila, who is 100% sure the striker will complete his season long loan, stated: "We've been speaking with John for a long time now but he's decided he wants to wait to see what his options are until March or April, maybe longer, so there won't be any final decisions this month.
Guidetti, reportedly earning £40k a week, has six league goals to his name this season, however, with no goals in Celtic's last eight matches has caused many Celtic fans to question the Clubs decision to really push the boat out in order to sign the striker.

@CelticGossip I honestly think guidetti has seen our wage offer and he realises that he ain't gonna be here
Although the in demand striker is considering his options for the time being, he insists that he is certainly committed to helping maintain their place at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Guidetti stated:
““I was not aware of this interest but it’s always nice to hear that a big club like this monitors you because it means you’re doing a good job.
“But I’m focused on Celtic. I want to continue to play well, I’m very happy. My contract expires in June 2015 so I have to continue to play well like I currently am at Celtic.”
