On-loan Celtic star John Guidetti has been issue with a notice of complaint following a “comment of an offensive nature” on the Dutch TV show 'FC Rijnmond'.
The 22 year old, Swedish international, arrived at Parkhead on a season long loan last Summer having spent six years at Manchester City without making a first team appearance.
The Scottish Football Association's compliance officer has asserted both the player, the parent club and Celtic of the charge, the Swede breaking disciplinary rule 73, “making a comment of an offensive nature” regarding the Hoops fierce rivals Rangers.
The striker has until 15:00 GMT on 30 March to respond to the complaint, but a Celtic spokesperson has already declared the players intent on overturning the charge.
“We are very surprised and disappointed that this has even found its way to an SFA judicial pane.
Whilst adding, “John Guidetti will be defending his charge.”
Guidetti's comments were caught on camera.
