Following a disappointing finish to what was admittedly an enthralling Dundee Derby on Tuesday night, next up on the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership fixture list sees United travel to South Lanarkshire to face a Hamilton Accies side without a victory to their name this season.
Saturday's match being the third of the new season, McNamara's men have had a mixed start to the campaign, picking up a win, defeat and a draw. Although the varied range of results have been evident, many positives should be taken. Blair Spittal's impressive form being a notable one, the energy and enthusiasm that Simon Murray has brought when appearing from the bench, as well as the steely performances from defender Mark Durnan.
The ties between the sides last season were full of excitement, goals and a few hints of controversy along the way. Overall, three matches were played, the games producing a total of ten goals, two sending offs and United picking up seven points out of a possible nine.
Although pundits, supporters and players alike have tipped the miss-firing Accies for relegation, United will need to be wary of the attacking threat that Ali Crawford provides for the Accies.
McNamara has a near enough full strength squad to pick from, however Callum Morris is still sidelined and Saturday may prove to be too early for both Ryan Dow and Mario Bilate to make a return.
A strong backing from travelling Arabs will go a long way in assisting United in their aim of collecting the three points, points that could well see United leap into second spot, should other results go their way.
Come on United!
