Since St Mirren’s 4-1 win against Dundee United on boxing day they had only won two league matches since that impressive home win. One of their two wins since December 2013 came last week at home to Kilmarnock in an impressive 2-0 win where Connor Newton and Greg Wylde both scored second half winners.
United on the other hand up till Wednesday night were on a 6 match undefeated run. However Wednesday’s fiery evening had them narrowly lose 1-0 to St Johnstone, in which the referee didn’t call a few decisions that could have tilted the match United’s way.
Dundee United’s only unavailable player is Curtis Good
Saint’s are without Djemba-Djemba, Van Zanten and suspended Jim Goodwin.
If Rankin and Paton stop any St Mirren attacks and give a platform for United’s attacking 4 I believe they will beat St Mirren comfortably. Although if John McGinn gets a chance to show his pace that could cause problems for United.
