Hull City
This being Hull’s first ever season taking part in a European tournament was always going to be a big one. The 2014 summer has seen Steve Bruce strengthen their relatively weak defence and also increase the depth in midfield.
Most important signing
This week Hull captured the signing of Tottenham centre back Michael Dawson for a reported 3.5 million. The signing of Dawson will create a steady defence and should also aid the development of exciting left back Andrew Robertson.
Other signings
The tigers have also brought in the forward minded Tom Ince from Blackpool, 21 year old centre back Harry Maguire from Sheffield United, Scotland international full back Andrew Robertson and the permanent signing of Jake Livermore.
Areas to strengthen
Steve Bruce should look to bring in another out and out striker. Jelavic is a clinical striker when on form; however, Hull’s goals seem to dry out when he is in the middle of one of his frequent goal droughts. The interest in Jordan Rhodes is a good decision by the club and they should look to bring in Rhodes or another number 9.
Key player- Tom Huddlestone
Huddlestone is a strong, controlling and solid midfielder. He has a brilliant range of passes and controls the game nicely from midfield. If like last season he uses his vision to accurately pass to the pacier wide men, I think he can be vital for Hull to perform consistently throughout the season. The built midfielder does a brilliant job at keeping the match and Hull ticking.
Where they’ll finish
I think after strong performances in the first half of the season, into 2015 I believe their young squad will tire and eventually finish around 12-15th place.
