Manchester City home kit 2014-15
Yesterday afternoon Man City unveiled the kit that will be worn to defend their premier league crown next season.
The main body of the shirt is very similar to last seasons; in fact it looks exactly the same. The only difference is a strip of black on the bottom of the sleeves and a different style collar to their crew necked collar in previous years. This season the collar has a small black V shape with the bottom of the V returning to the light blue colour used throughout most of the strip. On the chest of the shirt is once again the large and familiar Etihad Airways logo.
Throughout the shirt, Nike used a fabric technology called laser-cut ventilation and mesh panels. These particular features helps cool down the heated areas of the upper body cool down and release sweat slowly without showing huge sweat patches.
The shorts are very similar to last seasons, being all white with just the Nike and City crest on the bottom of them. The sweat releasing, cool down technology also features on the, lets say crotchal area.
The socks just like the shirt are mainly just the traditional sky blue with the black featuring again on the top edges of the socks. Once again laser-cut ventilation used, this time on the metatarsal area of the foot. The metatarsal is according to my old science teacher the second sweatiest part of the body. That’s definitely a fact to impress the family at the dinner table.
This new strip helps a lot for Nike’s environmental image. Each strip is supposedly made of eighteen glass bottles. Don’t ask how, I’m not sure anybody knows.
This is Nike’s second year designing kits for City as part of their bumper £72million pound deal.
I think that this is a decent kit and looks good, however, I would have preferred it if they had changed it a bit from last season, in my opinion I thought the 2013-14 one was boring a the most boring Man City kit for a long time.
