The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been going on for a considerable number of years. Most people see the situation as unsolvable, incredibly complex and increasingly barbaric, which is sadly all-true.
The way in which started this conflict is hard to summarize, but lets put it this way; both sides thought they had the rights to set up a state in the region. After numerous talks, terrorist attacks and cease-fires, there still wasn’t a suitable solution to this conflict.
One side however did come out on top, the Israelis. Sadly this left a loser; the Palestinians. The Palestinians have been now for decades mistreated, fair says. Numerous Israeli attacks, illegal settlements and the destruction of more than 500 Palestinian villages has left 67% of all Palestinians refugees.
There has been of course Palestinian attacks on Israel too. In 2014, the militant group Hamas fired several rockets (from Palestinian territory) into Israel. Israel responded with a series of violent attacks killing 2,139 people.
The situation still remains unresolved after various UN meetings and international talks. Just today another bid for Palestinian statehood was rejected by the UN Security Council. Will there ever be peace in the Middle East?
